Palak Jaiswal will be seen in Nishabd, an upcoming series, in the new channel Atrangii. The show is based on LGBTQ community by director-producer Mitu. Palak had no inhibition working on the project.
“The show only seemed like an exciting opportunity as it focuses on raising a conversation about the community. I also liked the story and my character,” she says.
On her experience of working with Mitu and Positive Thinkerz, “Mitu ma’am is an amicable producer. She kept the whole work experience very comfortable and happy. It was a lovely experience, the whole crew was very supportive,” she adds.
June is the Pride month. Ask if that is all the more reason to be a part of it, given how relevant it is and Palak replies, “To show that every story and all kinds of relationships deserves a telling is what I believe in. We as a society have progressed and all the communities can coexist together. Live and let live is the policy that works best,” she says.
Palak thinks it’s time that conversations around same sex relations to start. “As we progress as a society, so should the freedom of choice for everyone. Conversation always helps bottling up inside doesn't. Communication is the key for better understanding,” she explains.
A generational shift of programming is being noticed. In fact, it is the first time that a series like Nishabd is being made for TV. “I’m elated to be a part of a change. As an actor it is very challenging to work on such projects. An actor craves good work and wants to play versatile roles. I am no different,” she adds.
