Actress-producer Sargun Mehta, whose recent film ‘Saunkan Saunkne’ is being loved by the audience, says that, for an actor, every Friday is important. Sargun adds that actors need to keep adding to their skill set in order to survive in the industry.
“I think, being an actor, you need to keep reinventing yourself every time with every film. I feel every Friday people question your existence. You got to keep pushing your limits every time. You cannot get comfortable with anything. That's also one thing that keeps on motivating you and keeps you worried,” she says.
Meanwhile, talking about the thought process behind producing a Punjabi film and acting in it, Sargun says, “Most of the male actors are producing their own films in Punjabi cinema. Among the female artists, me and Neeru Bajwa ji are doing it. I am from a business family and I have been wanting to do this for some time now. Since I can't do any other business except for the one that I am, so I took up production. We also started production because we wanted to choose the stories we wanted to tell.”
The actress and her husband, actor Ravii Dubey, have big plans for their production house. “We are producing content for television and Punjabi cinema. We have already started to work on OTT as well. I think around next year, it will be launched. Then of course, when the game gets bigger, we will get into Hindi films too!” she says.
