Aalisha Panwar: My dad is my superhero

Father’s Day has always been special for actress Aalisha Panwar , who has a major surprise planned for her dad this year. “On Father’s Day, I love starting the day by wishing my dad. I'm in Mumbai usually and he is in Shimla. I end up doing a video call on Father’s Day with my dad,” she says.
She adds, “This Father’s Day, I have a special surprise for my dad, I will be gifting him his favourite car. He has already selected the car but he has no idea that I will be giving that car as a surprise on Father’s Day. So that will be delivered to him on Father’s Day.”
Talking about her Father’s Day memories, Aalisha says, “Since childhood I remember, my sister and I used to either bake a cake at home or make little creative cards for him. He has still kept all those cards. I share a deep and different relationship with him. I don't think I can compare the bond that I have with my mom. Mothers love expressing their love but dads usually don't express that much. But they love and care for us equally. Dads are also the ones taking care of us by going out of the house and working. Whether it is the best of education, best of medical facilities or anything else, they make sure we get it.”
She has always shared a great equation with her dad. “My father is my superhero. He has always been very cool and he's not very strict. He likes discipline but he never scolds me and my sister because we are his little princesses,” she says, adding, “I remember I always wanted to be an actress and my mom and dad were always okay with my decisions. When I used to go for auditions, my mom and dad were the most supportive. In fact, a lot of relatives were against this and said it's not a safe platform and that they should stop me from going to Mumbai. But my dad actually trusted me and believed in me. That is one of the reasons why today I'm able to do whatever I desire. This is only because I have a dad like him.”
Ask he what is the biggest advice that her dad has given her, and she says, “Behind every successful man, there's a woman and that's true and I would also say that behind every successful girl/woman there's a man and that man might be your father, brother, husband and, for me, it's my dad. The biggest lesson my dad has always taught me is to be independent whether it is financially or emotionally, he taught us to be strong, brave. I think this is the biggest thing that is needed today and I'm thankful and grateful to him because he's the reason I'm independent today. He also still teaches me how to invest money because he really believes in saving and investing more than spending. I think it's the most practical, logical and important thing as well. This learning will never end, it will keep growing. I'm lucky to have such a wonderful dad.”
