A film about how a young disenchanted graphic designer finds a 'home' in a remote village in the mountains of Ladakh, 3500 kms away from home a 3700 mts above the sea, he not only learns pottery but also soaks in the infinite calm & kindness is currently selected for screening at the Mumbai International Film Festival-MIFF 2022, in the section for films from Auroville Film Institute. 

This production is a part of the residential course in Leh-Ladakh, a collaborative project of the Auroville Film Institute and Himalayan Institute of Alternative Ladakh.

The film by Director Deepa Kiran who is the founder of Story Arts Foundation, professional storyteller, art-based educationalist, TEDx speaker, writer, actor, and film-maker was earlier shortlisted among the TOP 10 for SONY India Film Competition in December 2021 from the 800 entries received. This is My Home is Deepa's first documentary film. 

Deepa Kiran performs around the world in her distinctive style of music & movement-woven, multi-lingual storytelling performances inspired by oral traditions of India.  She has reached over 75,000 teachers globally, as an educationalist working with storytelling-art-based learning. 

Deepa has given TEDx talks and regularly contributes to international conferences & journals. 

She is associated with the Ministry of culture, IIT Madras, Annapurna College of film & Media, and TISS Hyderabad among many others. She recently acted in Rimi, a Dada-Saheb Phalke award-winning short film (2021) in Hindi. 

She has received multiple awards such as National Award from Government of India: Best E-Content in Educational videos for teachers, British Council’s ELTREP India research grant award for teacher development, Best actor award ‘Wolf Film festival’, Italy for protagonist role in Rimi.
